The aim of this paper is to discuss the representations of undergraduate university students in a Brazilian English teacher education course (Letras course). Representations are here understood as the meanings constructed socio-historically by individuals as they participate in different activities in the social formations they belong to. Knowing and understanding representations of English teachers-to-be is important for educators and those interested in the teacher education field as a way to get insights of their development and be better prepared to cope with the demands of such a process.Downloads
